NOW
Louise joined Wessex Partnerships in June 2007.
She is our Economic Development Consultant and will be
involved in a wide range of activities such as bid writing,
project support, and business development. She brings with her a
wealth of experience from the public sector and has a good
understanding of concepts such as innovation, knowledge, learning,
creativity, and enterprise development (including social
enterprise) in relation to urban and regional economic growth and
competitiveness.
THEN
Louise
obtained a BA Hons Geography degree at the University of Southampton, and after
graduation in June 2005, she worked for Southampton City Council. As a
Neighbourhood Renewal Team project officer, she supported a wide range of
projects including several with a focus on raising aspirations, skills
development, employment support and social inclusion of priority groups both at
a local neighbourhood level and in supporting the development of a City-wide
service, SITES (Southampton Information, Training & Employment Service). She
has been involved in partnership development, in the coordination of events and
training sessions to develop the awareness of, and capacity to bid for funding
opportunities, and has been involved in both the preparation and appraisal of
funding bids. Previously, Louise worked as a monitoring officer for two
Southampton regeneration programmes, the Single Regeneration Budget Round 6
programme, and the Area Investment Framework.
Major Strengths
Organisational skills, project development,
administration, and monitoring, database management, event
management, and experience of varying funding streams
Minor Weaknesses
Frustration on the Pitch and Putt course when the pitching and putting
aren’t working
