EU Funding for Enterprise Support
Wessex Partnerships is one of four UK partner organisations working with French business support organisations to help create new enterprises and provide services for business.
Called the Channel Innovation Network (CHAIN 2), the project partners include business centres, incubators, business hubs and science parks in South East England and the Brittany and Normandy regions of France.
Part-financed by the European Regional Development Fund, the 2.3m euro programme will run for 3 years and focus on innovative and technology-based companies who have the potential for growth, including those which have been supported by incubation / start-up business centre, science parks and other business support organizations.
Of particular interest will be those companies with an interest sourcing new customers, suppliers and partners through developing international business relationships, especially in France or in the UK. These companies will be able to register their details on the CHAIN 2 website and source companies with similar interests to their own.

The EU funds will help create a database of innovative and technology-based companies and the start up business centres, technopoles, BICs and other organizations which support them. CHAIN2 will also be running a series of Business Conventions and other events for innovative UK and French businesses and aid international collaboration between companies, research and development, new suppliers and other European projects.
The first convention runs alongside Internet World, Earl's Court London on 24-25 April 2012 with two free networking events for UK and French companies involved in digital marketing and online business.
