Funding to Promote Transnational Co-operation between Civil Society Organisations
Not for profit and non governmental organisations such as community foundations, community federations & associations, trade unions, EU umbrella organisations, etc, are being invited to apply for funding for projects that test and develop innovative transnational exchange schemes between civil society organisations. The funding is being made available through the ‘Europe for Citizens’ programme which aims to bring Europe closer to its citizens and to enable them to participate fully in the European construction. Projects supported through this call for proposals should aim to:
- Develop and test new forms of transnational mobility between civil society organisations and to promote the concept of transnational mentoring. This could include for example:
- mentoring on a one-to-one basis
- the mentoring of groups of staff/volunteers
- exchanges of staff between the partner organisations.
The total budget earmarked for this call for proposals is estimated at €1.1 million and grants awarded per project can range from €75,000 to €150,000. The closing date for applications is the 30th September 2009.
